Found Objects: Sophie Cuvelier Garlands

It's such a shame that summer is almost drawing to a close. These quirky garlands by french textile artist Sophie Cuvelier would be a perfect way to dress up those last outdoor get-togethers. Pair them with string lights in the evening to add a fun twist to your soirée.

Get them here.

Gallery: Peter Callesen

I thought the most fitting artist to spotlight on our first Gallery posting is Danish artist Peter Callesen. He's one of the artists I stumbled upon about a year ago and whose work always leaves me speechless. Taking humble sheets of A4, he transforms them into intricate, narrative pieces of art. Below are just a few examples of some of his beautiful work:

Alive, But Dead (2006), Peter Callesen

Holding on to Myself, 2006, Peter Callesen

Eismeer, 2006, Peter Callesen

Found Objects: Beautiful Buttons

I've always flirted with the idea of taking up sewing, especially when I hunt around for fabrics to use on our journals. It's a little sad when you encounter so many luxurious bolts of fabric and your sewing skills haven't evolved from when you were eight. I don't think I've ever progressed beyond the sewing of a simple button, but given the beauty of these porcelain buttons, it doesn't seem like such a shabby skill to have.

Welcome!

It's so exciting to be writing our very first blog entry! The whole studio has been so overwhelmed this past year (that's a good thing) that it's taken until now to be able to carve out some much needed space, sit down with a mug of white tea, and just relax. That being said, I'm happy to announce the inaugural post of Girl Of All Work {At Play}. I can't wait to be able to share with you all the fun little features I have planned for future posts. Stay tuned!
